I can't even believe I need to do this but I have to let you all know what has been going on with Celtic Pride Yorkies.

I recently posted an ad on www.craigslist.org in the Philadelphia area under pets, to advertise that I would be having puppies very soon.  Which I have done before without any problems.

I could not believe what happened next! I was bombarded with people posting some truly horrible things about me! They said that because I was a "home" breeder that I was only out to make money, that I didn't care WHO I sold my puppies to. That I just sold them to the highest bidder. Then they went too far.... The title of the post was "BACKYARD BONNIE"!  I opened the post realizing that they were talking about ME! What this woman wrote had me in tears! She was begging me to stop breeding, that innocent puppies shouldn't have to DIE so that I could make MONEY!

I hope you take the time to read the blog, If you do choose me as your breeder it will give you a lot of insight into why I breed and what type of breeder I am.

I understand the reason for ads being deleted but I have to say that I don’t understand the BASHING of the home breeder, well actually I do... I’m going to guess that the Basher is a breeder that feels threatened by the home breeder. I mean with us home breeders out there breeding HEALTHY, STURDY, WELL SOCIALIZED and HAPPY puppies I guess I do understand.

A lot of thought and time went into finding the right dogs to breed. My female Maggie is from Ireland because I wanted to have puppies that are HEALTHY, STURDY and HAPPY along with their owner! I am an EDUCATED  HOME BREEDER, and have been for a LONG time! I didn’t breed my dogs because I wanted to cuddle a few cute fluffy puppies I bred my dogs because of my love for the breed! Maybe you should think about it, how about the stress on a dog when they are in shows? Or how if a dog isn’t "perfect" some so called "reputable" breeders will have it put down rather than take responsibility for it? I have NEVER and would NEVER kill one of my puppies because of a defect! I would raise it myself! Most of the breeders that seem to be recommended by home breeder bashers seem to me to be total snobs! I actually saw a comparison on line of Home breeders and "Good" breeders that said a Home breeder will sell their puppies to ANYONE as long as they have the cash, (which by the way is just ANOTHER LIE!) and then in the SAME article they said that a "GOOD" breeder would never sell a puppy to a low income person! That is appalling! I have sold my puppies to people that truly loved the breed and because they were "low income" we worked out a payment plan, and then I helped them to find ways to pay for vet bills and such. How dare anyone say that just because someone is having a hard time they shouldn’t know the love and companionship of a dog! SHAME ON THEM! I am there for my puppy’s new family's FOREVER not just a week or two after they leave!

I also followed that post with copies of emails from two people that have my puppies, you can see them on my blog also.

Following those posts the really scary part started!

They started emailing me pretending to want a puppy, asking if they could come and meet the parents. THANK GOD something told me not to let them! I told them that if they sent a down payment through PayPal I would let them come and if they changed their mind I would refund the deposit. PayPal verifies your information, a day later I got an email from a woman that they had contacted because she was looking for a puppy and they wanted her to try to get my address so they could SAVE MY DOGS!!! They were going to come here and steal Seamus, Maggie and Scruffy! My poor dogs can't even play outside alone! I have not let them out of my site, I wont even answer the door it is really scary!!!!

So because of a few uneducated lunatics, I can no longer accept personal checks for down payment. The reason is that if I take a personal check I would have to give out my address before knowing if the buyer was really interested in getting a puppy or was it just to get my address so that they could come here and either take my Yorkies or harm myself or my family. I am really sorry for any inconvenience that causes anyone but I have to put the safety of my dogs and my family first. Please be careful should you decide to go to another breeder or anywhere else for that matter, these people feel the same about the person that purchase a puppy from anywhere other than a shelter, as they do about Home Breeders ! And PLEASE let me know if you are contacted by any of these people, I want to prosecute them BEFORE someone gets hurt or has their dogs stolen. They are VERY SERIOUS about what they believe and they should be dealt with accordingly! I would NOT suggest confronting them or arguing, either contact me or the police.
